Miss Japan, Riyo Mori, was crowned Miss Universe 2007 on Monday night. Over 600 million viewers worldwide tuned in to see who would win the title.
Brazil’s Natalia Guimaraes finished first runnerup, Ly Jonaitis of Venezuela finished second runnerup, Honey Lee of Korea is third runner up, while USA’s Rachel Smith survived an accidental slip to finish 4th runnerup.

18-year-old Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza - who fainted shortly after being crowned Miss Universe - says the cause was because "it was hard to breathe and the dress was very tight and weighed a lot" and not because she had been starving herself. She says:
"I eat very well. My nutritionist ordered me to eat six times a day."

Puerto Rico Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza passed out in a press conference and was rushed offstage on Sunday night. According to reports, pageant officials immediately said the lithe 5-foot-9 18-year-old was all right and had fainted. "She's OK. She's fine," pageant representative Lark Anton told Reuters.
