It looks like Mario Lopez’s career (and love life) may have been saved by the ballroom. According to Variety, The Dancing with the Stars finalist just inked a talent holding deal with the CW in which the network plans to either develop a starring vehicle for him or cast him in a pilot for the 2007-08 season.
Mario was also spotted steaming it up with his Dancing with the Stars partner Karina Smirnoff on their five day vacation in Punta Mita. I think it’s pretty obvious that they’re way more than just friends.

Though Mario Lopez and his Dancing with the Stars partner Karina Smirnoff have not admitted that there is anything romantic between them, the pair are vacationing together in Mexico. Britney Spears's post-breakup tour has taken her to Las Vegas – and she finally hit the town this weekend, winning big at the blackjack table and partying with Dancing with the Stars' Mario Lopez, sources tell PEOPLE.

On Tuesday's edition of Dancing with the Stars, contestant Mario Lopez had a very special fan in the audience: Eva Longoria.
Longoria, who recently split from boyfriend Tony Parker, and Lopez are old friends.
Arriving four minutes to show time, the Desperate Housewives star was shuttled to her seat in the front row next to Lopez's mother. Since producers had banned clothes with messages of support for contestants, Longoria concealed her homemade black "Vote For Mario" tee (which she'd Bedazzled herself!) under a tan blazer.
