Spiderman the Musical
Spiderman is coming to Broadway!
The much celebrated Marvel comic is making its musical debut on 2009. It will be following in the footsteps of The Lion King and The Little Mermaid – both of which made the successful transition from film to stage.
Spiderman the Musical has been in the works for over three years now.
But, Fans of the comic and the film shouldn’t expect Cole Porter-ish songs when they go see the show. Marvel execs have already announced that Bono and The Edge from famed Irish rock group U2 will be writing the songs.
That in itself is something to look forward to! Just think of songs like ‘Elevation’, ‘With or Without You’, ‘Pride’, ‘Vertigo’ and ‘City of Blinding Lights’.
Also joining the Singing Spider is Julie Taymor. Taymor directed the The Lion King.
