Posh VS Cam
When she decided to go dressed as a zebra to a Los Angeles awards ceremony, Victoria Beckham was confident that no-one else would steal her thunder.
Unfortunately, Cameron Diaz had the same idea.
So while the two women wore very different dresses - Mrs Beckham's animal-print minidress was certainly unique - they did opt for identical, £350 designer high heels.
Silver, shiny and vertiginous, there was no mistaking the heel's red undersole - the Christian Louboutin signature print.
After making her debut at the MTV Movie Awards, the 33-year-old former Spice Girl chatted backstage to the striking blonde actress, a former model.
Within seconds the pair realised that they had, embarrassingly, worn the same shoes.
Pointing out the sartorial faux pas, 34-year-old Miss Diaz looked decidedly unimpressed while her new friend giggled on, seemingly unconcerned by the blunder.
Wearing a clinging black and white dress teamed with a fluorescent pink bra, Mrs Beckham did, on the whole, make quite an impression.
Tottering on stage beside the actor, Chris Tucker, she received a surprisingly warm welcome from the live studio audience.
Displaying no trace of any nerves, she helped introduce US stars Rhianna and the rapper Jay Z.
While cynics are still questioning Mrs Beckham's ability to crack America, her appointment as a guest presenter is most certainly a step in the right direction.
Other celebrities asked to follow suit included John Travolta, Robin Williams and Samuel L. Jackson.
Jack Nicholson, Sacha Baron Cohen and troubled socialite Paris Hilton were also all in attendance at the star-studded event.
Of course, it is no surprise that, in a show-stealing outfit, Mrs Beckham did her utmost to shine.
In the five months since her 32-year-old husband, David, announced his £128 million move to LA Galaxy, the mother-of-three has been waiting patiently for her big break.
A £10 million deal with a US television network has yet to be screened - plus she reportedly angered TV bosses with her decision to delay filming so that she could watch her husband's return to the England team last weekend.
After being asked to present one of the performing artists at the annual MTV Movie Awards, the singer-turned-designer understandably leapt at the chance.
Speaking on the red carpet prior to the ceremony, Mrs Beckham spoke about the couple's widely publicised move to LA.
"I'm here decorating the house at the moment, trying to find a school for the kids," she told GMTV.
"Well they just got into a school so I’m happy about that. And I’m just busy trying to get everything sorted so it’s perfect for the boys and David’s arrival.
"I’m just going backwards and forwards trying to get everything ready, sorting out the house; it’s like a building site at the moment, there are so many builders in there.
"I just want David and the boys to turn up and for it to be perfect for them.
"I’m kind of feathering my nest for them at the moment for them, trying to make it perfect."
