Pete Wentz: relationship with Ashlee Simpson is really awesome
Pete Wentz has described his relationship with Ashlee Simpson as “really awesome” because they’re such good friends.
The friends repeatedly denied any romantic involvement for months before getting together earlier in the year.
Speaking at the MTV Video Music Awards at the weekend, the Fall Out Boy star said after six months together, they’re still going strong: “We’re past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it’s crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It’s just a really awesome thing.”
“People like to make it seem different than it is. People will say ‘No one holds hands that much.’ But I’m like ‘Why would you not want to touch the person that you’re in love with?’”
And Ashlee’s dad/manager Joe Simpson likes his younger daughter’s choice of suitor too. He told People magazine recently: “He’s a good kid.”
