Naomi Campbell pleads guilty to air rage assault charges
Naomi Campbell has pleaded guilty to kicking and spitting at police officers during her air rage incident at Heathrow at the start of April.
Naomi entered the plea at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court this morning, where she stood accused of six assault-related charges.
The court heard that Naomi was initially very friendly and professional on boarding the Los Angeles bound British Airways flight at the airport’s new Terminal 5 but then the plane’s staff were notified that they were going to be delayed because of luggage issues.
Melanie Parrish, prosecuting, told the court: “Miss Campbell, having heard this, approached the cabin crew and asked them to make inquiries about the state of her baggage.
“Regrettably it was confirmed one of her items was one of those not loaded.
“Having heard that Miss Campbell had been affected by the baggage difficulties, [the Captain] took the unusual decision to come and speak with her and explain the situation and make his apologies.”
But the supermodel was not placated and began to demanded to know the locations of her bags while getting upset and starting to use her mobile phone. The captain began to go through her options but: “To say that this process was difficult would be something of an understatement. Miss Campbell made no attempt to listen to him and talked over him, stating: ’I don’t want to hear. I can’t believe you have lost my f****** bag. Bring me my f****** bags now.
“How dare you tell me what my options are? You are not leaving until you find my f****** bags.’”
She then began to verbally abuse the captain and other cabin crew, provoking staff to call for airport police assistance when the assault incident took place.
The court is now adjourned to consider her sentence: she faces up to six months in jail and/or £5,000 fine for each of the counts.
