Daughter of fashion designer Donatella Versace is battling anorexia
Fashion designer Donatella Versace has confirmed rumors that her 20-year-old daughter Allegra is, indeed, anorexic and has been battling the disease for many years. She also states that her daughter is receiving treatment and is doing well and asks that her privacy is respected:
"She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well. As parents, we are doing our best to protect our daughter. However, due to numerous media reports, we want to let everyone know that we appreciate their concern for Allegra, and we ask that her privacy be respected at this time."
Versace first confirmed the news on Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 to "The Insider" after hearing reports of internet chatter about her daughter's appearance.
