Christian Bale Rant Caught On Tape

Batman star Christian Bale has been caught on tape delivering a expletive-laden tirade to a cinematographer who distracted the actor during filming of "Terminator Salvation."

The four-minute verbal salvo by the star of "The Dark Knight" blockbuster was posted by entertainment website TMZ.com on Monday and has rapidly spread around online news sites.

In the clip of the incident, which took place on location in New Mexico last July, Bale can be heard lambasting cinematographer Shane Hurlbut for apparently wandering into the actor's line of vision.

"If you do it one more time I ain't walking on this set if you're still hired!" Bale screams in one segment.

The 35-year-old British-born actor repeatedly calls for Hurlbut to be kicked off the set and threatens to tear down the cinematographer's lighting rig.

"Do you want me to go and trash your lights? Do you want me to go and trash them? Then why are you trashing my scene?"

"You're a nice guy, but that don't cut it when you're b...(expletive) around on set. Seriously man, you and me, we're done professionally."

Bale's tantrum was defended Tuesday by Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and producer on the "Terminator" film.

Speaking to E! News, Franklin described Bale as "a consummate professional."

"If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove ... It was the most emotional scene in the movie," said Franklin.

"And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."

Bale's expletive-laced rant is the latest incident involving the fiery actor, who is renowned for his single-minded approach to acting, which has included shedding 60 pounds (27 kilos) in a few months for 2004's "The Machinist."

Bale was arrested in London last year for allegedly attacking his mother and sister. Police later said the actor would face no charges because of insufficient evidence.
