Britney Spears’ family worried by Sam Lutfi
Britney Spears‘ family are reportedly concerned about the star’s new close friendship with film producer Sam Lufti.
Sam suddenly appeared as a core member of Britney’s entourage earlier in the year and has recently taken on Alli Sims‘ previous position as lead Britney defender in the media, including being the one to ‘officially’ deny the recent rumours that the Gimme More star is pregnant.
A source close to Britney’s parent, Jamie and Lynne Spears, told Us Weekly magazine: “They are frightened. They know she is being taken advantage of.”
“She’s so desperate for a friend that it’s easy once you get in there.”
The magazine claims that Lufti is known by multiple aliases and has had two restaining orders issued against him - one over harassment of a business associate and the other after threating a neighbour and his elderly mother.
In addition, the magazine claims that his film producing credit, for 1998 B-movie Bug Buster, sounds more impressive than it actually was. The film’s director Lorenzo Doumani told the publication that Sam was actually his $350-a-week assistant and added he felt Lufti was “a hustler type”.
Last week, Lufti was scheduled to make a statement about Britney’s behaviour as part of her ongoing custody battle after receiving a subpoena from Kevin Federline’s legal team - but he failed to show. The hearing is now set to take place in January.
