Britney Spears complains about her control order: it’s worse than jail
Britney Spears has revealed her life under her conservatorship has been far from fun.
The singer was placed under the legal order at the start of February after she was placed under a mental health hold in hospital for the second time in less than a month. Her dad Jamie Spears and lawyer Andrew Wallet were given authority to control all aspects of Britney’s life, including who she could see or talk to one phone, her medication schedule and her financial estate. After a number of extensions, the order was made permanent in October, although those close to the case expect Britney to regain control at some point.
Speaking in her MTV fly-on-the-wall documentary, Britney explained that while she seems to have bounced back to full health since her breakdown last year, her life is rather boring at the moment - even with her current pop comeback plans: “There’s no excitement, there’s no passion.
“I have really good days, and then I have bad days. Even when you go to jail you know there’s the time when you’re gonna get out.
“But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like Groundhog Day every day.
“I think it’s too [much] control. If I wasn’t under the restraints I’m under, I’d feel so liberated. When I tell them the way I feel, it’s like they hear but they’re really not listening.
“If you do something wrong in your work, you can move on, but I’m having to pay for a long time.
“I never wanted to become one of those prisoner people. I always wanted to feel free.
“I think I’ve learnt my lesson now and enough is enough.”
The documentary will be broadcast in the UK on Sky 1, to coincide with the release of her new album ‘Circus’ at the start of December.
