Amy Winehouse’s family fear for her safety with Blake in prison
Amy Winehouse’s family reportedly called 999 last night after fearing the worst when they lost contact with the singer.
A source told the Daily Mail that her mum and dad, Janis and Mitch Winehouse, are on tenterhooks regarding their daughter since Amy’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil was held on remand on trial-fixing charges over the weekend: “Amy’s family are petrified she’ll do something stupid. They know she’s very low at the moment and misses Blake terribly.”
“Her father Mitch is keeping an eye on her as she is so vulnerable at the moment and is known for self-harming so there are concerns for her wellbeing. Her friends and family are worried she might do herself some harm.”
“They were trying to reach her on the phone yesterday evening and they were also trying the flat in Hackney where she’s been staying but they couldn’t get in touch with her. They immediately feared the worst and called an ambulance and police to go and check on her.”
An ambulance arrived at the property around 7.30pm but paramedics couldn’t locate Amy - who arrived home unharmed shortly after police arrived around 9pm.
Amy is said to have attempted to visit Blake in Pentonville jail yesterday but was turned away because Blake’s mum Georgette had booked the day’s only permitted visit.
A source told the Mirror that the fact that Blake is incarcerated - at least until his court hearing later this month - has now sunk in and Amy’s earlier optimism is slowly waning: “It is a real struggle for Amy, it is taking so much out of her. But she is relying on intimate phone calls to Blake to get her through. He has been crying himself to sleep at night, and Amy just can’t bear it.”
Things aren’t going much better for Blake either. He was transferred to the prison’s medical unit over the weekend to help him adjust to life inside and according to a source quoted in the Sun, fellow inmates have labelled him “Soft Boy”: “Blake hasn’t had a good start. He keeps crying and going on about Amy.”
“He might fancy himself as a hardman on the outside, but not in there. He really needs to toughen up if he wants to last until his trial.”
Blake faces charges of GBH and attempting to pervert the course of justive after allegedly attempting to pay off the key witness in the assault case. He is due in court in London on 23rd November.
