Alicia’s PETA Ads “Too Rude”

The television commerical portion of Alicia Silverstone’s PETA advertising campaign has been pulled from American TV screens, after it was labelled “too rude” to broadcast.

Her 30-second adverts were pulled from Comcast Cable in Texas on Wednesday, despite the fact that they’d already paid for a block of the ads. Nudity was named as the reason behind the cut.

In the ad, a fully nude Silverstone “steps out of a swimming pool” and shares in the benefits of a healthy vegan lifestyle.

PETA president, Ingrid Newkirk, said that while the ads might have been pulled from the television, they are still able to be viewed online, via the PETA.org website.

“[Viewers can] get an eyeful, not only of the stunning Ms. Silverstone, but also of our free Vegetarian Starter Kit – chock full of delicious recipes – that will make them drool for an entirely different reason,” Newkirk said in a statement.
